Action4Acomb (A4A), as a constituted community group, has had the prime purpose of leading on Acomb’s Community Led 5-Year Plan (CLP) 2015-2020, involving you, the local community, tapping into local knowledge, experience and the vast array of skills and contributions of local residents to make it happen. Anyone living and/or working within Acomb Parish is part of A4A.  Many successful projects and activities have been the result making Acomb an even better place to live and work. Acomb’s Community-Led Plan is overdue to be reviewed with your involvement, once Covid -19 restrictions are lifted to safely do so.

The Action4Acomb website has recently been upgraded and reviewed after it had been hacked several times. It is hoped this now provides improved and updated content.    If you experience any issues with the A4A website please let us know: action4acomb20@gmail.com

What is a Community Led Plan?

  • A plan to improve Acomb, focusing on what is important to the people living and working in Acomb Parish – (there was consultation with established groups, a Parish wide questionnaire to all households in 2014 resulting in a 56% response rate. All this information you provided was analysed and was the foundation for the CLP and what you valued and what you wanted to happen).
  • It provides a working document to influence local and national decision making across various organisations e.g. Parish Council, County Council, Environment Agency – ( on going links made with partner organisations, as has been demonstrated in the work relating to Acomb’s Flood Plan have made things happen).
  • It is a tool by which A4A can apply for funding to improve facilities and services – (successful grant applications are already making a difference, LEAF Grant to support the Citizen Science Project; Community Chest to support the development of A4A’s website and the printing of the parish wide questionnaire; Action for All Lottery funding to support the Youth Club and holiday activities; Parish Council Grant to support the process of the Community Plan, and much more).
