Acomb Parish Council would like to invite all members of our village community to attend a presentation from Northumberland County Council (NCC) Service Director for Climate Change on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 at 7pm. Due to the numbers of residents interested to attend, the Parish Council normal agenda items will be deferred until Wednesday 17 March.
Northumberland County Council has reduced its carbon emissions by a third in recent years and is ranked as one of the greenest in the country but what else can be done?
One of the topics to be discussed will be District Heating Models. District Heating plays a key role in Denmark’s heating system and Denmark is one of the world’s most energy efficient countries. Can this model help the UK move towards zero emissions too?
With 17,000 district heating networks in place in the UK and nearly 500,000 connections to them (including domestic), is it feasible in rural villages? Come along and find out.
The meeting will be held using Zoom with a Q&A session afterwards.
In the mean time, read NCC’s Climate Change Action Plan 2021-23 here; https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/Climate-Change/climate-action-plan.aspx
